Today’s beer is a real thirst quencher on a hot day – especially since they even recommend that you pour it over ice to drink it. I’ve been hanging on to this one for no particular reason but it seemed like a goodie to sip on during this heatwave. Here’s a quick overview.
Style: Fruit beer
Rating: 3.5 / 5
Fruit beers are odd. Fruit beers that are meant to be sour are even more strange. But somehow both work in this one. It pours red and has 5 berry kinds in it: strawberries, raspberries, black cherries, elderberries and blueberries. The head is… abundant, almost gushing. It’s got tartness and sweetness but ends of on a balanced bitter-er, drier note. It’s very refreshing and at only 3.8% it’s certainly a beer to start the day with.
Take a peek at their site for interesting ways to blend the beer into beery cocktails. You can find some ideas here. You can also find some bottles in good liquor stores or online at League of Beers. There are also great gift packs at Checkers Liquor that come with a fabulous glass.
