There’s nothing quite like a rich, smooth stout to get you through the winter chills. Now add a healthy dose of espresso and chocolate to it, and you’re basically drinking your dessert. Except that this dessert weighs in at a hefty 10% ABV, so … moderation is key :-p
The Cocoa Psycho is a small miracle in a bottle; mostly because it shouldn’t be possible to make a stout that is this layered with flavour without sacrificing something along the way. On first smell and sip, it’s pure espresso; roasty and bitter. Along the way you taste just the hints of the cacao nibs. They add another sort of bitterness (similar to dark chocolate) but also the richness and sweetness you expect from a great stout. But the finale is everything, and this stout finishes off so smooth, it’s unbelievable. Truly a marvel.
